Planning a kitchen renovation? Read this first!
The kitchen is always evolving – lifestyle, design and technology all have a major impact on this space. Appliances are an integral part of any kitchen and need to incorporate the latest trends while also standing the test of time. It’s a tricky balance.
Combination steam ovens are the latest must-have
A demand for nutritious meals in Australian households has, in turn, lead to healthier lifestyles. As a result of this trend, steam ovens and, in particular, combination steam ovens have really become a necessary part of the kitchen appliance specification process.
Canopy rangehoods are an eyesore
Another appliance trend we are seeing is a push to concealed rangehoods because kitchen design has become more streamlined and minimalistic.
Bigger is (once again) better
We have also noticed the return of larger capacity ovens with the 76cm and 90cm sizes taking back some market share from the 60cm oven size market. This can be attributed to the fact that people are entertaining at home more than in the past and, as a result, appliances need to be larger.
COLOUR YOUR WORLD
People are slowly starting to get tired of the more common stainless steel theme and are looking to add a point of difference to their kitchen. We are noticing that kitchen design is going to a more flat-base white color that allows colored appliances to really ‘pop’ in the kitchen space. ILVE have embraced this and now offer our freestanding cookers in over 1600 different custom colors.
A big influence Europe is having on our new appliances is efficiency. How can we make what we have more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and versatile for multi-use in today’s home? Appliances typically last over ten years, so we need to always have longevity and timeliness in the forefront of our minds when releasing products to the market.
